Surf Lessons - FAQs

Whether you're planning to join one of our surf lessons or looking to dive into a full retreat experience, we know you might have a few questions. Below, you’ll find everything you need to know—from what to bring to what’s included. If you still need help, feel free to reach out—we’re happy to help!

1. Do I need any experience to join a surf lesson?
Not at all! We offer lessons for all levels—from complete beginners to intermediate surfers looking to improve their technique.

2. How long is a surf lesson?
Each lesson typically lasts around 2 hours, including a short land-based introduction, warm-up, and water time.

3. What’s included in the lesson price?
All lessons include a surfboard, rash guard, and professional instruction. You can also add photo/video packages, video analysis, and surfboard insurance.

4. How many people are in a group lesson?
We keep group sizes small—usually 2 students per instructor—to ensure personalized attention and safety.
If you are a bigger group we will have more instructors to make sure you get the time in the water you want.

5. What should I bring to the lesson?
Just bring swimwear, sunscreen, a towel, and a smile! If needed bring also a water bottle or you can buy food and drinks at the beach. We provide everything else.

6. Can I choose the surf spot?
Our instructors choose the best spot for your skill level and the current conditions. We prioritize safety, fun, and wave quality.
Nevertheless you can tell us your dream spot and we will check if your skill level and conditions make it possible.

7. Are lessons available for kids?
Yes! We offer special surf lessons for children (usually ages 7 and up) with extra safety and guidance.

8. What if the weather or wave conditions are bad?
Safety is our top priority. If conditions are unsafe or unsuitable, we’ll reschedule your lesson or offer a full refund.

9. What kind of surfboards do you provide?
We have a wide range of soft-top and hard-top boards suitable for beginners and intermediates. Our instructors will help you choose the right one for your level and goals.

10. Do I need to be a strong swimmer to take lessons?
You should be comfortable in the water and able to swim, but you don’t need to be an advanced swimmer. We always surf in safe conditions and shallow waters for beginners.

11. Can I book a private lesson?
Yes! We offer private 1-on-1 lessons, which are perfect for faster progress, special coaching, or more flexibility with time and location.

12. Do you offer multi-day lesson packages?
Absolutely. We offer 3-day, 5-day, and weekly surf packages at a discounted rate. These are perfect if you’re staying longer and want consistent progress.

13. Do you offer lessons in different languages?
Our team speaks multiple languages including English and Bahasa Indonesia. Let us know your language preference when booking!
